Do you want to make a real impact accelerating global energy production transitioning to zero-carbon systems? 

In Elisa’s International Digital Services, you can join a multidisciplinary team that is harnessing data and AI to overcome issues arising from wind and solar becoming the main forms of energy production. As a Head of Software Product Development you would bring your expertise on developing complex mission critical software systems to the team and enable us pilot and scale the new solutions to commercial reality.

Position Overview: We are on the lookout for a Head of Software Product Development to lead our senior R&D team. Your mission will be to lead the development of a high-quality mission critical distributed system, specifically tailored for the Smart Energy Solutions sector. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in an agile, fast-paced environment and is passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology to create impactful solutions.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the lean product development cycle, from concept to large-scale implementation, ensuring the delivery of new and innovative solutions
• Lead and scale the team, cultivate a culture of participation and hands-on engagement
• Work closely with the CTO, team members and stakeholders in product management and business to refine and develop the product's overall architecture, incorporating core software, external system interfaces, and enhancing MLOps and DataOps capabilities 
• Work as needed with customers to understand their unique needs thoroughly, aiming to surpass their expectations with our solutions

What We Expect from You:

• A proven track record of over 10 years in developing new software products, with a preference for those who have worked on complex, data-intensive B2B products in a startup/scaleup environment
• Exceptional leadership qualities, with the ability to cultivate a culture of participation and hands-on engagement. Proven experience in hiring, scaling and nurturing high-performing teams is crucial
• Comfort in working directly in technical and domain level with technical experts including software developers, data scientists, and engineers, as well as with non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in agile methodologies, delivering and scaling an excellent product to the market and developing architectures for data-intensive products in a cloud environment
• Strong communication skills in English, both in writing and speaking
• Proven collaboration and coaching leadership skills 
• A passion for innovation within the zero-carbon energy ecosystem, backed by solid software and data orientation
• Willingness to travel internationally to meet customers as needed
• A master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field is highly desirable

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data and control systems within the energy sector, including reserve markets
• Familiarity with modern cloud architectures, including AWS and Databricks, and technologies such as Python, Pytest, SNMP, asynchronous development, and machine learning
