Elisa connections

When you move to Finland, having a local phone number and internet connection makes everyday life easier. With Elisa, you get reliable mobile and home internet services, plus support in English both online and in stores. 

Elisa is a proudly Finnish company and we have excellent network coverage with fast 4G and 5G connections as well as fibre. Most Elisa mobile subscriptions include unlimited data, calls, and messages within Finland, so users can stay connected without worrying about extra costs.

    • We also have a range of other phone subscriptions to meet your needs, e.g. monthly billed subscriptions, which means you receive an invoice every month for the service.

    • Elisa Tietoturva is a Finnish personal security service powered by F‑Secure, protecting devices on Android, iOS, Windows and macOS.
    • It includes device security, safe browsing, fraud and identity protection, password management, expert support, data recovery and insurance coverage.
    • Four service levels are available, ranging from a starter package to complete coverage.

What documents do you need?

To get monthly billed phone or internet connection or any services in Finland, you need:

  • A valid Finnish personal identity code (temporary or test codes are not accepted)
  • A permanent address in Finland verified in the population register

Please note that a residence permit is not accepted as an official form of identification.

If you have lived in Finland for less than two years, you need to pay a deposit (e.g. €100). The same limitations apply to everyone who has recently moved to Finland and and does not yet have any services with us.

FAQ

Monthly billed subscription means that your subscription is billed monthly, which means you receive an invoice every month for the service. 

In order to get a monthly billed phone or internet subscription, you need to have a Finnish ID and a permanent housing address in Finland. We also recommend having a Finnish bank account to ensure the easiest and most seamless payment experience in OmaElisa.

If you don't have a Finnish ID or a permanent housing address, a prepaid subscription is the easiest option. Check out our prepaid options.

Prepaid number can not be changed to a monthly billed subscription, but you can get new number with monthly billed subscription. Monthly billed subscription means that your subscription is billed monthly, which means you receive an invoice every month for the service.

To get the monthly billed subscription you need to meet the requirements, i.e. you have a Finnish personal identity code and a permanent housing address in Finland.

Many homes in Finland include an internet connection provided through the housing company. This is called taloyhtiönetti in Finnish.

If you have this kind of internet connection, you need to activate it. The basic speed is included in your rent. If you want faster internet, e.g. for gaming or streaming 4K content, you can upgrade to a higher speed. You can activate the internet connection and upgrade your connection speed in three ways:

  • At a store
  • Online
  • By calling our sales team
