Questions and answers on the use of subscriptions within and outside Europe
Why is the change happening now?
Despite COVID-19, we hope we can all travel soon again.
In future, we will offer you even more care-free internet use in Europe. At the same time, we comply with the EU Roaming Regulation, which provides for a certain amount of internet use in EU and EEA countries in the monthly subscription fee. The EU/EEA internet included in the monthly fee depends on the normal monthly fee of your subscription. For this reason, the amount of data available varies between subscriptions.

How much data is used abroad?
The amount depends on how much you use your phone to access the internet, for example, by reading email, using map apps or social media. For instance, watching videos consumes more data than listening to music.
2 Gt of data usage abroad corresponds to about
three hours of video watching on the internet,
1,000 website visits,
60,000 WhatsApp messages,
or 400 images uploaded to internet.
How do I make sure that use of the internet abroad will be possible?
In order to be able to use the data transfer capacity included in your subscription in EU and EEA countries, your subscription must not have international data transfer blocking enabled. Blocks on data transfer for your subscription can be checked through OmaElisa:
After logging in, select your subscription number from the menu on the left.
Click on the tab for blocks on usage (Usage blocks) and use the edit function (Edit) to disable blocks if necessary. The change will be updated in the system in a few minutes.
Make sure that data transfer is also enabled in your phone’s settings.
Why is the amount of EU data different in different subscriptions?
The internet use in the EU and EEA countries included in the monthly fee depends on the standard monthly subscription fee, and therefore the amount of data available varies between differently priced subscriptions.
